Collective resolve and action needed in EBA negotiations
Thursday 02 Jan 2014
Members may have seen the report in today's edition of The West Australian, in which our negotiations for your next agreement are discussed.
If you haven't seen the article, you can read it by clicking here.
Members should be aware that the new State Government wages policy is a serious obstacle to us achieving a wages outcome in excess of inflation each year, which is currently forecast at 2.5 per cent a year.
Your union will negotiate hard to achieve the best outcome possible, and it will only be with collective resolve and action that we will achieve the outcomes you deserve. HSUWA members are as important to our hospitals and health system as the doctors, nurses and support staff who have received above-inflation wage increases over the last few years. Working together, we will demonstrate this to both the community and the State Government.
Over the coming months, we may call on you to assist us in our campaign for better wages and conditions. We hope you will join us and stand side-by-side with your fellow union members, as we fight for the wages and conditions you deserve.
