EBA 2014 Campaign – Industrial Action Looming
Tuesday 27 May 2014
HSUWA members employed in public hospitals and health services contribute directly to the delivery of quality health services for the West Australian community. Health Service delivery relies on teamwork.
Doctors, nurses, support staff, allied health, health science, clerical and administrative, technical and supervisory staff all work together to provide those services.
The EBA 2014 Campaign is all about recognising and rewarding the work HSUWA members do as part of the team.
It seeks equal pay rises for HSUWA members compared to the pay rises nurses, doctors and support staff will receive this year and the next.
It also seeks increased job security in response to the rise in contract employment.
About 1,200 members have attended workplace meetings in the metropolitan area during May and have resolved to commence industrial action in support of equal pay rises if an acceptable offer is not received by 1 June 2014.
If there is not an acceptable offer members and staff covered by the Agreement are asked "What action will you take from 1 June 2014?", information on what "working to rule" means and suggestions for work bans can be found here.
