Get ready for May Day 2015
Monday 13 Apr 2015
Join us on Sunday 3 May to celebrate the annual May Day Festival, which recognises the many achievements of the union movement, including the eight-hour workday.
Held on the Fremantle Esplanade, the event is a free, fun day out on the green celebrating with friends and families.
Starting at midday with a march through the streets of Fremantle, thousands of people will fly the flags of their unions, accompanied by live musicians.
After the march, speakers will address the crowd, then the festivities will kick off from 1.00 pm.
With most of the day being sponsored, festival-goers can expect free family fun, including a sausage sizzle, ice-creams, coffee, show rides, face painting, a petting zoo and local bands to get your feet stomping throughout the afternoon.
The HSUWA will be hosting a stall that will feature a fun activity and some giveaways.
This year we'll also be raising funds for the union movement's overseas aid arm, APHEDA Union Aid Abroad.
It's a great afternoon and an important occasion to celebrate, so please come along and bring your family and friends.
