The HSUWA remains open and we are changing our work practices as this crisis unfolds to ensure we meet your needs.
Union membership and solidarity among health care workers has never been more important as we face the challenges ahead.

More trained officers have been diverted to assist as we have received an influx of member queries and cases. In light of the current circumstances, the we will be extremely mindful of balancing safety and needs.
Please be aware that call waiting times have increased as a result of members' uncertainty around their workplace entitlements and safety issues.
In other HSUWA operational matters:
- HSUWA administration staff, where possible, have been instructed to work from home on laptops and not at our city office. Social distancing is being exercised, where possible.
- Your HSUWA Organisers will continue to work over this period. Ordinary schedules and onsite workplace meetings will, however, alter over the coming months. Many employers, particularly in aged care, have requested that officials not conduct visits or workplace safety inspections in the immediate future. In light of the current circumstances, the we will be extremely mindful of balancing safety and needs.
- Organisers will remain fully contactable via mobile phone and email and will attend meetings where essential. Small member meetings may still occur ‘off premises’ as well as by technology.
- All HSUWA member training sessions have been postponed until further notice.
