Members Encouraged to Have Their Say: Governance Review for WA Public Health

The Minister for Health has appointed a panel to conduct an independent governance review of the Health Services Act 2016 (the Act)

The public consultation survey has been opened and will close on 6 May 2022. HSUWA encourages all Members to have their say directly through the survey. HSUWA will also provide a formal submission to the panel on behalf of its Membership.

The review will investigate whether the current governance arrangements and operational instruments specified within the Act are operating in a way that works and enables the the best possible healthcare outcomes for patients and their families.

The Minister for Health has commissioned the Independent Panel to provide advice on:
  • Whether the roles and responsibilities within the health system are appropriately distributed.
  • Whether current governance arrangements are operating in a way that enables the best possible experience and outcomes for patients, their families, and the health workforce. This includes an assessment of resource management, clinical outcomes and quality and safety of care.
