St John of God feel the pinch
Thursday 24 Aug 2017
Members at St John of God Hospitals are facing a less certain future with the changes in economic fortunes for WA, and changes to in the way people are providing for their private health cover.
SJG Healthcare have advised the Union that they need to restructure their hospital group. This been brought about by the slow growth and low activity across the private health care industry in general. SJG are of the view that there appears to be no sign of any let up to this in the medium to longer term and that has now reached the point where there is a need to make cuts to the workforce to align it with the reduced activity. Up until now SJG have endeavoured to address the issue by managing hours, reorganising work, utilising accrued leave and by internal redeployment.
