St John of God Pathology employees to vote on new Enterprise Agreement

Thursday 13 Jun 2013

The HSUWA has concluded negotiations with St John of God over a new Enterprise Agreement for StJoG Pathology employees.

The Union managed to secure a 9.5% pay rise over the 3 year term of the Agreement. However, about a third of members will actually receive a higher wage increase due to classification restructuring. The bargaining power of the union was bolstered by a 56% increase in membership during negotiations.

Other key areas of the agreement include:

-   A streamlined classification structure for all workgroups with additional increments added to several classifications from 1 July 2013 or 1 July 2014.

-   Adoption of a new classification structure with increased rates of pay for all who were placed in the Administrative Support Officers classification as at 30 June 2013

-   Additional Annual Leave for on-call that will be available to those who meet the criteria

-   Additional Annual Leave for a defined shift-worker that will be available to those who meet the criteria

-   Sunday Penalty Shift - time worked at or after 12 noon Sunday and 6am Monday morning will now be paid a 75% loading

-   Pay increases of 3% on f.f.p's: 1 July 2013, 1.75% 1 July 2014, 1.5% 1 March 2015, 1.75% 1 September 2015 and a further 1.5% 1 March 2016

-   Increase to the on-call allowance to $5 per hour

-   Pro-rata long service leave can be accessed after 7 years and taken more flexibly

This is not the entire list of changes and members are strongly advised to review the actual document which is available on St John of God's internal Pathnet system.

StJoG Pathology employees are currently voting on whether to accept the Agreement, with the ballot closing on the 18th of June.
