Update on Public Service pay offer
Thursday 20 Mar 2014
Negotiations for a new EBA for public servants are at a more advanced stage than our own negotiations. The Public Service EBA expires in April, whereas the HSUWA EBA expires at the end of June.
The CPSU/CSA was seeking a three-year agreement, with a wage rise of 4% in each year and no trade-offs.
The government's pay offer is 2.5% per annum over three years. The offer also includes trade offs around job security.
Reducing job security is becoming a hallmark of the Barnett Government as it makes major changes to redeployment and redundancy rights in the Public Sector Management Act.
The CPSU/CSA Workplace Reps met on 13th March to decide the next steps in their pay campaign.
Their workplace delegates rejected the Barnett Government's offer for General Agreement 6 (GA6).
The CSA delegates voted to put a counter-claim to Government of 3.5% in each year and no trade-offs, and to hold a mass members' meeting at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre at 10:00 am on 27 March.
