Vale Vincent Capriotti
Thursday 05 Feb 2015
We are very sorry to share the sad news of the passing of HSUWA member Vincent Capriotti, who was tragically killed during the thunderstorms on Tuesday 3 February.
Vince was an active HSUWA member for the majority of his years with the Centre for Cerebral Palsy, having joined the union in 2002.
Vince was a Workplace Representative (Delegate) for the last 12 years and was at the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement bargaining table for the 2004, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 negotiations.
During his tenure on the EBA team the union achieved some great milestones:
- Secured two public service holidays (HSU days)
- Paid parental leave
- Additional employer superannuation
- Paid Study Leave and Professional Development Leave
- Union rights of entry to the workplace.
Vince was a strong advocate for members and work colleagues, and at the bargaining table was a determined team player who never wavered from his point of view or that of his constituents until such time that a legitimate argument could persuade him otherwise.
Vince will be sorely missed by all. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family
