Workplace Rep Robyn Strong receives long service award

Friday 04 Sep 2015

HSUWA Workplace Representative, Robyn Strong has received a long-service award to acknowledge her 36 years of service at Claremont Private Hospital.

Robyn, who has worked in reception on the weekends since 1980, has outlasted several managers, gone through three hospital renovations, and seen many significant changes in technology and processes.

Robyn received her award at a ceremony as part of the hospital's annual celebrations that marked its opening in 1944.

She said working in reception has allowed her to deal with a variety of people, and complete a range of tasks, including admitting patients, accounts, enquiries, and working the switchboard.

She also said that despite all the changes and growth that had occurred during her time at Bethesda Health Care, it still remained a place that made people feel special, and she loved working there.

Robyn has been a HSUWA member for over 31 years and, as a workplace rep, has been integral in helping the union negotiate and deliver good wage outcomes for members.

Congratulations Robyn.
