
Public Sector health workers are about to receive a pay increase won by HSUWA Members.
Workers in WA’s public sector health system will be between $8,071 and $25,080 better off because of the work of HSUWA Members. The Union Agreement 2024 has been lodged with the WA Industrial Relations Commission (WAIRC) and awaits registration. In the interim, the Department of Health has notified the HSUWA of the dates workers should expect back pay and new pay rates to apply.
HSUWA Members won the following pay increases under the Union Agreement 2024:Year 1: 5% (with back pay to 1 July 2024); Year 2: 4% and Year 3: 3.75%.
HSUWA was advised that employees can expect both back pay and the implementation of new pay rates, as follows (depending on which payroll system you are paid under):
Ascender :
- The new rates for the Union Agreement will be implemented as of 10 March 2025, with the first pay day falling on 27 March 2025 (pay period dates being 10 March 2025 to 23 March 2025).
- Backpay for the period of 1 July 2024 to 9 March 2025 will be paid on the 27 March 2025 pay day.
Lattice:
- The new rates for the Union Agreement will be implemented as of the 10 March 2025, with the first pay day falling on 27 March 2025 (pay period dates being 10 March 2025 to 23 March 2025).
- Backpay for the period of 1 July 2024 to 9 March 2025 will be paid on the 10 April 2025 pay day.
