
HSUWA Members achieved significant improvements to pay and entitlements in the 2024 bargaining process. Because of the dedication you showed, all employees covered by the Union Agreement 2024 will see more improvements applied from 1 July 2025, including:
- 4% increase to your pay (base hourly rate)
- 30% Night Shift Penalty
- $1,000 Professional Development Allowance paid fortnightly (P-scale)
Members will receive an update in the newsletter this week about the application of the pay increases and when it will appear on your payslips.
Members are also reminded that new Forms for claiming the new Higher Qualifications Allowance and Lead Apron Allowance – MIT are available from HSS.
These are things you can achieve working together that can’t be won alone. A reminder to speak to any non-members in your area and let them know they will be enjoying these improvements because of the determination and unity of Union Members, and encourage them to join today. The challenge is to move these over 15,000 people from being non-members to members of your union so you have more might to improve your pay, safety and conditions.
