HSUWA Delegates Rute Rubeiro, Judith McLoughlin, Craig Russell (Vice President) and Cassie Ellis speaking about their campaigns and wins at Union Conference 2025.

On 1 August, HSUWA Delegates and activists from private and public sector health attended Union Conference 2025 at Optus Stadium with a focus on building for the future. Congratulations to the terrific Delegates who spoke on the day and shared their experiences. We heard about recent wins, hard-fought campaigns and inspiring stories of solidarity!

Attendees also heard from Hon Patrick Gorman (Assistant Minister for: Employment and Workplace Relations; the Prime Minister; and the Public Service); Hon Meredith Hammat (Minister for Health; and Mental Health) and Dr Shirley Bowen (Director General of WA Health). Each of these speakers pleasingly also participated in Q&As from Members.

We would like to acknowledge our partners who supported the event. They were HESTA (Major Partner) and Aware Super and Slater & Gordon Lawyers (Supporting Partners).

The event was the HSUWA’s biggest conference to date! It was an energising day for all, and we look forward to seeing how the knowledge and camaraderie shared on the day contribute to building power in your workplaces.
